An Ocean's Worth of Om

From the driveway the fluid lines begin. They draw you in past feathery casuarina trees with their faded edge and you may not notice but an organic Om has already imprinted on your consciousness, an ocean’s worth of Om.

Filter in through the aperture just past reception and you are released into a space of curves. The brain loves curves. You feel a space before you analyse it. It’s neuroarchitecture working for you. It’s the art of an architect in the process of creating a lasting space tuned to its environment, not imposing on it. This softness is welcoming and without really knowing why, a release occurs comprised of a vast sky and ocean horizon beyond. It’s the greatness of nature merged with the comfort of the curve.

The colour profile is simple: white, blue and green. There are additions of vibrant tones from bougainvillea, art, tiles. Clutter is minimal. However this is not a modern take, a deliberate exclusion of human relics. This is a naturally evolved space which began at its inception and passed through the loving hands of previous owners. It rests now with us but we see it as ours to care for, to continue to nurture. This coast and this artistic space belong. And we, for a time partake.

So what happens here? That’s the first error, it’s not the “happens”, it’s the “here” that matters, being present. The deepest recall is emotional. How you feel is what stays with you and imprints. It forms part of your psyche and informs your outlook. When we offer observance as humanity has through the ages, we recognise that which is innate in us and for the moment we release our busy minds. We can apply this observance to ourselves and regard us with the same respect as we too for a time, partake.
